新的特性
- Windows PE安装程序引入进展条，这看起来像是M7的Slate风格，但是大部分还是Plex风格。
- 资源管理器和控制面板窗口具有更新的资源管理器后退/前进按钮，它也有搜索和命令提示符按钮。
- 浏览器视图基本保持不变，但是硬件的旋转视图被先前的选项卡式视图所取代。
- Internet Explorer有小更新，而Outlook Express有一个新的配置画面。
- Plex主题仍未改变，Luna和Windows经典仍然可以使用，当你切换到别的主题时，任务栏仍然是Plex风格。
- 支持Aero特效，虽然它有很多问题，比如右键菜单不起作用和开始菜单不会显示所有程序。
- 全新的文件和设置转移向导。
- Windows图片和传真查看器升级。
- 完善Longhorn帮助中心。
- 移除Windows XP漫游。
- 侧边栏时钟上有你所在的时区的信息。
- “我的联系人”可以根据名字来排列。
- 不论是在“我的图片”里的任何东西，都可以显示出它的缩略图和详细信息。
注意事项
- 安装
此版本与VMware模拟的IDE光驱不兼容，需使用SCSI光驱启动安装环境。
安装程序无法进行分区，请使用diskpart分区或选择一个预先存在的分区。
- Aero
进入C:\Windows\Resources\Themes文件夹，复制Plex文件夹并改名为Aero，将里面的plex.msstyles改名为aero.msstyles。然后打开命令提示符，运行net stop winux和net start winux。运行C:\Windows\i386\sbctl.exe start命令启用Aero透明。
